真正的问题，已经不只是“要不要接？”

现在一个陌生号码打来，真正的问题已经不只是 “要不要接？”。真正的问题是： 这个号码背后到底是谁？在我做决定之前，我手上的信息够不够？

PDRM 通过 JSJK 公布， 28,698 宗电信犯罪案件 发生于 2025年1月至11月，损失达到 RM715 million。其中 21–30 岁受害人数最高——因此诈骗并不是“只有老人会中招”的问题。[1]

2026年，PDRM 也持续警告利用 AI 声音克隆、虚假紧急来电，以及 deepfake 音频／视频冒充家人、朋友或老板的诈骗手法。[3] 这很重要，因为“听起来就是本人”的声音，也已经不能再被当成身份证明。

iPhone 现在已经有 Call Screening——但它解决的是另一个问题

过去很多时候，iPhone 用户只会看到一个号码，例如 +60 1X-XXXX XXXX。你不知道它是客户、银行、医院、快递、Telemarketing、Debt Collector，还是 Scammer。于是很多人最后选择最简单的方法： “陌生号码全部不接。”

到了 iOS 26，Apple 加入了 Call Screening。在受支持的语言／地区中，iPhone 可以先要求陌生来电者提供姓名和来电原因，再把对方的回答显示给你，让你决定是否接听。[4]

Call Screening 更像是在回答： “这个陌生人说自己为什么打来？” Caller ID／Spam 数据库则尝试补充另一个维度： “这个号码过去可能是谁？有没有其他人举报过它？”

那么，Truecaller 真正解决的是什么问题？

对我来说，Truecaller 的主要价值不是它“知道谁是骗子”，而是它尝试 把一个没有背景信息的号码，变成一个拥有更多上下文的号码.

Truecaller 表示，它的 Spam 名单会参考社区用户举报。当用户主动把来电或信息标记为 Spam，这些报告会帮助系统识别 Fraud、Telemarketing、Robocall 与 Scam。Truecaller 也承认，系统可能出现误判。[6]

在 iPhone 上，Truecaller 也支持手动查询号码。如果系统没有自动识别来电，用户可以通过 Truecaller App／Widget 搜索该号码。[7]

iPhone Call Screening 和 Truecaller 并不是同一种东西

所以我不会把它理解成“Apple 对 Truecaller”。更准确的理解是： Call Screening 可以提供来电者自己声称的来电原因；Caller ID／Spam Protection 可以提供这个号码更多的历史信息或标签。 这是两个不同的信息层。

我最看重的一点：信息在你做决定之前出现

骗子最容易得手的时候，是我们处于 措手不及、害怕或被催促。Caller ID 不能消除这种心理操控，但它可以多给我们一个停下来的瞬间，问一句：“为什么这个号码会被这样标记？”

我也不会写 Truecaller “可以解决 50% 以上的诈骗电话”，因为目前没有足够可靠的证据支持把这种比例当成事实。更准确的说法是：

最重要的一点：Truecaller 也会判断错误

这一点必须写清楚。Truecaller 自己说明 Spam List 会参考社区举报，号码也可能被错误标记。当某个号码的举报数量下降到一定门槛以下时，它也可能从 Spam List 中移除。[6]

骗子可以使用一个还没有任何举报记录的新号码；相反，真正的商家也可能因为 Telemarketing 或重复来电而累积大量 Spam 举报。

iPhone：完整 Caller ID 并不是全部免费

根据 Truecaller 目前的官方说明，在 iOS 18.2 或以上版本，要使用完整 Caller ID，需要 Truecaller iOS v14 或以上版本，以及有效的 Premium 订阅，同时需要开启 Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification 中的相关开关。[8]

Private / No Caller ID 确实无法被“猜出来”

Truecaller 明确说明，Hidden／Private Number 无法被识别，因为号码本身必须显示在屏幕上，系统才有号码可以进行 Lookup。[9]

与其相信一个“万能 App”，我更愿意把它看成三层防线

Bank Negara Malaysia 长期警告，有骗子会冒充银行、BNM 或执法机构，以信用卡交易、调查或“为了安全”进行资金转移等理由制造恐慌。核心原则仍然一样： 不要因为电话中的人自称“官方人员”，就交出金融资料或按照对方指示转账。[10]

Caller ID 是事前防线；一旦钱已经转出去，重点必须立刻转为行动

PDRM 在 2026年5月说明， NSRC 997 每天 24 小时运作 ，作为金融诈骗受害者的快速应对渠道。[11] 如果你刚刚把钱转给骗子，不要把关键时间浪费在继续和对方争辩，或追究“到底谁错”。

When an unknown number calls today, the real question is: who is behind this number, and do I have enough information before I decide what to do?

PDRM’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department reported 28,698 telecommunications-crime cases from January to November 2025, with losses reaching RM715 million. People aged 21–30 formed the largest victim group in that dataset.[1]

In 2026, PDRM also warned about AI voice cloning, fake emergency calls and deepfake audio/video used to imitate family members, friends and bosses.[3] A familiar-sounding voice is therefore no longer enough to prove identity.

iPhone now has Call Screening — but it solves a different problem

For years, an iPhone might show little more than +60 1X-XXXX XXXX. Is it a customer, bank, hospital, courier, telemarketer, debt collector or scammer? Many people responded by simply refusing every unknown call — which can also mean missing legitimate calls.

With iOS 26, Apple added Call Screening. Where supported by language / region, iPhone can ask an unknown caller for their name and reason for calling before your phone rings, then show you the response so you can decide whether to answer.[4]

Call Screening helps answer: “what does this caller say they want?” Caller ID / spam databases try to answer something else: “who might this number be, and has it been reported before?”

So what problem does Truecaller actually solve?

To me, the real value is not that Truecaller “knows who the scammer is”. The value is that it tries to turn a number with no context into a number with more context.

Truecaller says its spam list is built from community reports. Users who voluntarily mark calls or messages as spam contribute signals that can help identify fraud, telemarketing, robocalls and scams. Truecaller also acknowledges that mistakes can occur.[6]

On iPhone, Truecaller also offers manual number search when automatic identification does not provide an answer.[7]

iPhone Call Screening and Truecaller are not the same thing

I therefore do not see this as “Apple versus Truecaller”. A better model is: Call Screening can provide the caller’s stated reason; caller-ID / spam protection can provide additional history or labels around the number.

What I value most: information arrives before the decision

Scammers benefit when we are surprised, frightened or rushed. Caller ID does not remove that psychological pressure, but it can give us one extra moment to stop and question what is happening.

I also would not claim that Truecaller “solves more than 50% of scam calls”. I have not found reliable evidence supporting that percentage as a general fact. A safer formulation is:

The most important part: Truecaller can also be wrong

Truecaller says its spam lists are built from community reporting, and it acknowledges that numbers can be wrongly marked. Numbers may also be de-listed when reports fall below a threshold over time.[6]

A scammer can use a fresh number with little or no reporting history. A legitimate business can also accumulate spam reports because of repeated marketing calls.

On iPhone, full Caller ID is not entirely free

Truecaller’s current support documentation says that on iOS 18.2 or later, full Caller ID requires Truecaller iOS v14 or later, an active Premium subscription, and all relevant switches under Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification.[8]

Private / No Caller ID cannot be magically identified

Truecaller states that hidden / private numbers cannot be identified because the number needs to be visible for the service to identify it.[9]

I prefer a three-layer model instead of one “magic” app

Bank Negara Malaysia has repeatedly warned about callers impersonating banks, BNM or enforcement agencies and using stories about card transactions, investigations or money transfers. The core rule remains: do not disclose banking information or transfer money merely because a caller claims to be an official.[10]

Caller ID is preventive. Once money moves, the priority must become response

In May 2026, PDRM stated that NSRC 997 operates 24 hours every day as a rapid-response channel for financial scam victims.[11] If you have just transferred money to a scammer, do not waste critical time arguing with the caller.
